Big Al,

First, thanks for having me here.  I have a couple of questions.  I'm headed out to Vegas later this week for 3-4 nights and planned to spend the majority of my gambling time at the craps table... as usual.  I have been playing craps for about 5 years now forming my own system that is very similar to yours.  This site has help to give me some great tips as well.

Questions:

1) I never have and never plan on gambling for $ online.  For me I just love to be in the casino atmosphere.  I do play serious but just don't have an interest in playing online for $.  With that being said, i notice most of the online craps game that I practice on (free) do not allow you to turn the place bets on during the come out roll.   Why is this?

2) My system is similar to yours where I play the 5, 6, 8, 9 on the come out roll but I turn them on or have them working.  What is your opinion of this?

3) When ever a seven hits i like to place the 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 and have them working on the come out roll.  If one of those numbers hits, I take down the 4 and 10 and then press the number that hit and go back to your system of waiting 3 rolls.  What are your thoughts on this?

4) lastly, the pass line.... when a point hits and clears the table and you place the 5, 6, 8, 9 for the come out roll, do you like to also play a passline bet?

Thanks for your suggestions, opinions, etc.  I know there is no 100% proven system but I do agree with you that probability is the way to go.

Hi Dustin, nice to have you in the House.

All of us see patterns and randomness differently. Any of our "systems" are just a framework over the randomness to provide some (what we think is) predictability on the chaos.

About your questions. First, you are wise to avoid the Online casinos. They may have some slick graphics, but rarely play the game right, whereas MCG does play with the same rules and odds you will find in a live casino.  How does one know that they dont force rolls that make you lose?

One of those rules at every casino I know of, is that the Place Bets are always automatically OFF on the Come Out Roll. Now if there is a casino that lets you manually call Place Bets ON for the Come Out roll, then that's news to me. The house may say "Why not? The Seven is likely to wipe those bets down."

Whenever I see ALL the place bets made, it seems excessive betting 6 numbers against the Seven.  Say you put a standard $160 across all Place Bets. You get paid $35 or $45 (4/10) on one Roll and lose $160 when the Seven comes, one roll in every 6.   Thats not good Risk/Reward to me  Huh

On my version of Hit It & Quit It, I avoid the Pass Line. Why? I want to keep my focus on the Place numbers, I can Take Down my Place Bets to reduce my Risk. I cant take down a Pass Line Bet.

Destin, rather than Place numbers on the Come Out, try that the right way and learn to love Come Bets, which most people dont know about.  As Come Bets are the same Odds as the Pass Line, AND you can add Free Odds that pay at the right rates, its a better way to go.  If you have the latest MCG v1.2b, that version is very good with Come Bets.  Try that and see how you do.

Any of the above is just conjecture and not to be taken as any hard and fast rules.  You do it your way and have fun with it!

Thanks Big Al.  I purchased the game and am enjoying it.

One more question.  I usually walk up to a table and watch a few rolls before jumping in to see how the table is.  Once I decide to join, would you recommend waiting for a new point to be established, a seven clearing the previous point or just jumping right in at any point?

Also, just curious.... Do you have a favorite high risk bet that you play every now and then after something certain happens?  I will every now and then place the 5, 6 & 8 as well as a field bet after three 7's hit within five rolls.  Do you see any negatives to this.

Hey Dustin, thanks for your bidness.

Starting out is "dicey". We all have our ways to get into the flow, like a surfer waiting for a good wave.  I will always wait for the Come Out roll to get started, a clean slate and all.

Yeah. I love the Hard 8 and often throw $10 on it, then parlay the payout into the $1000 jackpot. If the parlay doesn't come in, I am out $10, if it does, it pays $1000.

This then gets into predictive pattern matching and is not reliable.  You may see that pattern, but the dice are "Dumb as a Rock" and don't see that pattern.

Thanks for great questions and good luck.
